Step 1: Take a square sheet of paper, fold it in half diagonally to make a crease and unfold.

Step 2: Fold the paper along the other diagonal and unfold.

Step 3: Turn the paper over.

Step 4: Fold the paper in half downward and unfold.

Step 5: Fold the paper in half sideways and unfold.

Step 6: Fold along the creases you’ve made to get a square.

Step 7: Rotate the item, bringing its left bottom corner to the top.

Step 8: Fold the upper layer of the top corner downward.

Step 9: Turn the item over.

Step 10: Fold the upper layer of the top corner downward again.

Step 11: Fold the upper layer of the right corner to the left.

Step 12: Turn the item over.

Step 13: Fold the upper layer of the right corner to the left again.

Step 14: Fold the upper layers of the top edges to the center line.

Step 15: Turn the item over.

Step 16: Fold the top edges to the center line.

Step 17: Fold the upper layer of the left corner to the right.

Step 18: Turn the item over.

Step 19: Fold the upper layer of the left corner to the right again.

Step 20: Fold the right top part downward, making its tip look down, and unfold.

Step 22: Expand the right part of the item and fold the flap inward.

Step 23: Expand the item again and fold the tip inside out as a hood to make the tail.

Step 24: Fold the left top part downward, making its tip look up, and unfold.

Step 25: Expand the left part of the item and fold the flap inward.

Step 26: Fold the tip inward, making it stick out on the right.

Step 27: Fold the tip inward again — now it should stick out on the left as a beak.

Step 28: Fold the upper layer of the bottom corner upward.

Step 29: Fold the left edge of the flap to its bottom edge to make the wing.

Step 30: Turn the item over.

Step 31: Fold the upper layer of the bottom corner upward again.

Step 32: Fold the flap as previously, making the second wing.

Step 33: Cut off the bottom part of the item. The hen is complete!

Step 34: Cut off the side corners of the triangle to shape the egg.

Step 35: The egg is complete!

Step 36: Put the egg inside the pocket and pull the hen’s tail and head away from each other several times. The hen will flap its wings and lay an egg!

Step 37: The egg-laying hen is complete!
