Temaki with Raw Salmon How to make Sushi
You will need (for one person):
— 1 oz/30 g prepared sushi rice
— 1 oz/30 g raw salmon
— 1 oz/30 g cucumber
— wasabi to taste
— 1/2 nori sheet
Step 2: Take a cutting board, a sharp knife and a bowl of clean water.
Step 3: Slice the salmon fillet about 1/2″ thick. Cut slantwise against the grain of the fish.
Step 4: Cut into wide strips against the grain again.
Step 5: Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise and remove the seeds with a teaspoon. Then cut each half into thin strips.
Step 6: Take the nori sheet in one hand and a small clump of rice in the other. Squeeze the rice clump to make it compact and place it in the corner of the nori diagonally. Wash your hand in the bowl after handling the rice.
Step 7: Place the slice of salmon next to the rice clump.
Step 8: Spread some wasabi onto the salmon.
Step 9: Add some cucumber strips.
Step 10: Fold the nori corner, holding the filling with your thumb. Wrap the uncovered part of the nori around the filling. The temaki should have a cone shape.
Step 11: Press some rice grains on the corner of the nori and seal the roll.
Step 12: The temaki with salmon is ready to serve.
Step 13: Serve with soy sauce.
