The simplest of whipping knots; it is rather tight and looks neat, as its ends are almost invisible. Whipping is an ancient technique, which traditionally had been used for preventing the end of a rope from fraying. However, this type of whipping is more recommended as a binding knot.
One of the most effective binding knots, the Constrictor, is rather simple to make and difficult, sometimes even impossible, to untie. It is extremely tough and can even damage or deform the bound objects. The Constrictor is generally used for semi-permanent binding.
