Bird How to Draw
Step 1: Let’s draw the basic shapes and lines, applying a gentle pressure on the pencil. We’ll start with an oval and a circle. The oval is inclined to the left.
Step 2: Trace the tail with a triangle at the bottom of the body oval and draw a large half-circle to mark the wings. Keep in mind that both wings should have equal length, so the oval should lie precisely in the middle of the half-circle.
Step 3: Now we start drawing the contours, pressing on the pencil normally. Outline the head, making its left contour longer than the right. Draw the contour of the face.
Step 4: Draw the left wing, detailing the feathers. The top feathers are the longest and the most curved. The right contour of the wing curves to the left.
Step 5: Draw the second wing the same way. Its contours should overlap the body oval, unlike the contours of the first wing.
Step 6: Outline the body and the tail, connecting the oval and the triangle with smooth curved lines. Mark the feathers on the end of the tail with a zigzag line. It curves inward in the middle, because the tail is a bit forked.
Step 7: Draw an oval eye and a pointed beak.
Step 8: We need to mark the borders of the dark-blue edges of the wings and the tail. The lines on the wings go through the inner edges of the feathers. The line on the tail repeats the curve of the contour. Erase all the basic shapes and lines before coloring.
Step 9: And now for the most fun part — let’s color our bird! The ends of the wing and the tail feathers are dark-blue, other parts are light-blue. The bird’s face is the lightest. Trace over the contours again if they got blurred after coloring. The bird is complete!
